In 2025, Pakistani cinema saw a mix of genres, which included horror, romance, comedy, sports, and action on the big screen. Below we have the report of the year’s big releases.

Deemak

Deemak, a horror drama which is also a family affair, stars Faysal Quraishi, Sonya Hussy, and Samina Peerzada. What we have is a mix of the supernatural and very personal family issues, which makes this film a standout in the Eid al-Adha release.

Love Guru

Ishq-e-Lahore

In Ishq-e-Lahore, Javed Sheikh, Saima Noor, and Altamash Butt star in a drama that focuses on a couple who stand up a stand against a large-scale mafioso. The film also brings out themes of loyalty, love, and justice.

Qulfee

A mix of comedy and action in which our hero is a former hacker who became a thief, who used to run into banks. Also, it is a mix of humor and exciting heist elements, which makes it very entertaining.

Half Fry

Half Fry is a foray into the action comedy genre, which reworks the as-yet-unreleased film Once Upon a Time in Karachi. In this, which features Mohsin Abbas Haide, we see a revived take on a put-on-hold project that is presented via a different storytelling approach.

Lambi Judaai

Blasting into the past, Lambi Judaai is a romantic action film that stars Babar Ali. In the style of 1990s Lollywood, it does well with audiences that love a mix of action and emotion.

Raah (Short Film)

A brief but powerful film that tells the story of Zafar, a man who was arrested in a drug deal, which he writes to his sister about. In only 11 minutes, it explores crime, regret, and redemption in a very moving way.

Delhi Gate

Directed by Nadeem Cheema, Delhi Gate is a very action-oriented film that also has a strong base in local culture. Also, with its in-depth storytelling, it is the film that is on everyone’s tip of the tongue to see this year.
