Satyananda’s life traced a fascinating bow of spiritual prowess from a youthful age, climaxing in a global heritage of yoga tutoring. His practitioner, Swami Sivananda, noted Satyananda’s violent detachment( vairagya).

Spiritual gests: From an early age, Satyananda had spiritually inclined gests , like out- of- body events. Original sadhus comforted his parents of his acute spiritual mindfulness.

Seeking Church: At 19, he met a tantric bhairavi, Sukhman Giri, who initiated him into secret tantric rituals. She directed him to find a practitioner, leading him to Rishikesh, where he met Swami Sivananda and was initiated into the Saraswati order. He stayed with Sivananda for 12 times, rehearsing a custom of soliciting for alms and learning Tantra, Vedanta, and Kundalini yoga.

Wandering India: After 12 times, Satyananda renounced the vihara to travel through India and bordering countries, launching the International Yoga Fellowship Movement in the early 60s.

In 1964, Satyananda innovated The Bihar School of Yoga in Munger, training yoga preceptors as well as conducting courses.

In 1988, he handed over his vihara leadership and settled in Rikhia, Jharkhand, living as a sannyasin performing Vedic sadhana. He established Rikhiapeeth, an vihara devoted to yoga training and spiritual mindfulness.

Satyananda entered mahasamadhi in 2009. Despite his benefactions, he faced allegations of child abuse, which were delved by the Australian Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, chancing children subordinated to abuse under his leadership.
