Bobby Aloysius, a distinguished female athlete from India, currently resides in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. She held the Indian and South Asian records in high jump from 1995 to 2012, with her remarkable jump of 1.91 meters. However, in 2012, Karnataka's Sahanakumari surpassed her record.

Bobby represented India in the Athens Olympics. Unfortunately, her performance in the 2004 Athens Olympics didn't allow her to advance to the final round, finishing 28th during the qualification stage with a height of 1.85 meters. Subsequently, she decided to retire from professional high jump.

During her career, Bobby had the privilege of training with renowned English high jump coach Denis Doyle for 1.5 years, which significantly enhanced her skills. She achieved a national record jump of 1.91 meters under his guidance. Bobby's achievements include winning silver in the Busan Asian Games and gold in the Jakarta Asian Championship.

Born in Chemperi, Kannur, Kerala, Bobby has traveled extensively and lived in Shrewsbury, United Kingdom, until 2009. She currently serves as the assistant secretary (technical) of the Kerala State Sports Council in Thiruvananthapuram. Bobby is married to journalist Shajan Scaria and is an alumnus of Calicut University. Presently, she holds the position of Superintendent of Customs in Chennai.

Bobby fondly recalls her interactions with fellow athlete Yelena Yelesina, who provided invaluable support and training assistance despite their differing skill levels, demonstrating exceptional generosity in a competitive sport.

Her notable achievements include winning various competitions such as the Asian Championships, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and others, showcasing her prowess in high jump.

Bobby and Shajan have three children: Stefan Holm Skariah, Gangotri Skariah, and Ritwik Skariah. Gangotri, following in her mother's footsteps, has excelled in various sports, particularly basketball, athletics, cricket, and golf. She has garnered attention for her unique high jump technique and promising golfing career, despite training challenges.

In 2018, Bobby was honored with the prestigious Dhyan Chand Award, a recognition she had pursued for years. This accolade serves as motivation for her to return to coaching seriously, aiming to nurture promising talents and contribute further to sports development.
