Darwin Gabriel Núñez was born in Artigas, Uruguay, on June 24, 1999. Núñez was raised in a family with a lower socio-economic status – his father worked in construction and his mother sold milk to earn a living. Núñez has been passionate about football since childhood and joined Peñarol’s youth academy in Montevideo when he was 14 years old.
