Vikas Jayaram Phatak, a social media personality widely recognized as Hindustani Bahu, is known for his style of criticizing individuals or organizations that he feels are anti-India or Indian culture. Born on August 6, 1983, she has more than 5 million followers on Instagram.
Early Life
Phatak was born in Mumbai in a Maharashtrian family. He attended St. Andrew's High School in Mumbai but dropped out after the 7th grade to support his family following his father’s job loss. He has been married to Ashwini Phatak and lives in Mumbai with his parents, wife, and son.
Career
Phatak began working at an early age, taking jobs such as a ball boy at Khar Gymkhana, earning ₹20 a day, and selling incense sticks on trains. He gained prominence on social media in February 2019 after the Pulwama terror attack, when his viral video “Pehli Fursat Mein Nikal” became popular and was widely used in memes.
In addition to being a YouTuber, Phatak serves as a crime reporter for Daksh Police Times, a Mumbai-based newspaper. He was honored with the Best Chief Crime Reporter Award in 2011. Phatak is also the founder of an NGO named Aditya Yuva Pratishthan, named after his son, and is associated with Sankalp Yuva Pratishthan.

Controversies
Instagram and Facebook Suspension (2020):
In August 2020, Phatak’s Instagram account was suspended after he uploaded a video inciting violence against individuals he accused of mocking Indian deities and culture. The video was reported for promoting hate speech. Following this, his Facebook account was also deactivated for spreading communal hatred.
Complaint Against Ekta Kapoor (2020):
Phatak lodged a complaint at the Khar Police Station against filmmaker Ekta Kapoor for allegedly disrespecting Indian soldiers in an episode of the ALTBalaji web series XXX 2. He demanded Kapoor return her Padma Shri award and issue a public apology. Later, he also filed a criminal case against Kapoor and her family, accusing them of insulting the Indian Army's uniform.
Protest at Shivaji Park (2021):
On May 7, 2021, Phatak announced a protest at Shivaji Park, Mumbai, demanding the cancellation of exams for students. He traveled to the location using an ambulance, exploiting its emergency status, and was detained for violating COVID-19 restrictions. He was charged under multiple sections of the IPC and the Disaster Management Act, 2005. Phatak was released the next day and posted a video addressing the incident.
Dharavi Riots (2022):
On February 1, 2022, Phatak was arrested for inciting riots in Dharavi, where over 1,000 students protested violently, demanding the cancellation of offline board exams amid the pandemic. An FIR was filed against him under various sections of the IPC, including those related to rioting, obstruction of public officials, and violating COVID-19 guidelines. He was remanded to police custody but granted bail on February 17, 2022.
