Early Life and Educational Background

Ishita emerged from a Telangana defense family following her birth in 1996 at Begumpet Hyderabad. Wing Commander Sanjay Kishore, who worked in the Indian Air Force until his death, served alongside her mother, Jyoti Kishore, who used to teach before retirement. The family found their permanent home in Patna within Bihar territory. Ishita attended Air Force Bal Bharati School in Delhi to finish her studies and proved herself both at the top of her academic class and as a leader in multiple extra-curricular school activities. She earned her Bachelor of Economics (Honors) from Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) Delhi University in 2017. 

Professional Journey Before UPSC

From 2017 June through March 2019, Ishita served as a risk analyst for Ernst & Young (EY). Public service became more important to her than corporate employment, so she stepped down from her corporate role in 2019 for complete devotion to the UPSC Civil Services Examination preparation. 

The UPSC Journey

Success brought multiple obstacles along the way for Ishita to overcome. Ishita failed to pass the preliminary round during her first two applications for the UPSC Civil Services Exam. She brought together unwavering determination and resilience to review her weaknesses and adapt her strategies in 2022 for her third try, which enabled her to achieve the top position and score 1094 points altogether. 

Interests and Extracurricular Activities

Nationwide football player Ishita has participated in the Subroto Cup competitions since 2012. Ishita actively takes part in Model United Nations conferences and participates in leadership roles in school societies alongside her involvement in extracurricular activities. Her wide range of interests and all-encompassing growth led to an expanded personality.
