Prashant Kishor, familiarly known to most people as PK, is one of the best-known political strategists in India, whose inputs have helped a host of politicians and parties win numerous elections. He hails from a small village in Bihar, and this man from a small land has come a long way to be a major player in Indian politics.
Early Life and Family
He was born in Konar, a small village in Bihar's Rohtas district. His father, Dr. Shrikant Pandey was a medical practitioner, and Kishor saw his mother Sushila Pandey managing their household. Prashant Kishor grew up in a homely environment and that early experience did mold some of his values as well as approach in his career.
Education and Early Career Further
Kishor attended high school at different government schools in Bihar and went to Patna Science College for higher secondary studies and afterward to Delhi University, but health issues did not allow him to complete his graduate degree. He received a post-graduate degree from Hyderabad and became a professional in public health, where he served the United Nations in India and worldwide for various public health campaigns, including polio eradication.
Entry into Politics
He entered the political arena after a research paper on malnutrition had struck then-Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. In 2011, he assisted Modi in his re-election campaign. He designed some of the innovative strategies based on voter engagement and behavior that had never been used before.
CAG and I-PAC Foundation
In 2014, Kishor started Citizens for Accountable Governance (CAG), in support of Modi's prime ministerial campaign.
