Early Life
1986: Praveen Kumar was born on October 2 in the Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh to police constable Sakat Singh Khaiwal and Murti Devi Khaiwal. Praveen Kumar has shown his raw skills in cricket since his young days. So, within two years, at 19, he entered mainstream club cricket, which gradually saw him climb up to first-class cricket and then mark his presence in domestic tournaments. But even professional success comes with its challenges, including mental health issues that made him seek counseling.
Domestic Career
Kumar first came into the limelight through the 2004-05 Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he ended up as the joint-worst wicket-taker. In 2007, he captained the India Red team in the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy, and later that year, he made his debut for the Indian team, playing an ODI against Pakistan.
One of the career experiences of this India cricketer was the Commonwealth Bank Series in 2007-08 when his mature bowling took the team to victory against Australia. In 2008, he signed with the Indian Premier League (IPL) by representing the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for ₹1.20 crore.
