Rajat Manohar Patidar was born on 1st June 1993 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Rajat is a right-arm off-break bowler and a right-handed Indian batsman. Rajat started playing cricket at the age of 8 and represented a local cricket club. His grandfather then got him admitted to a cricket academy. He was an expert bowler initially but turned into a batsman afterwards after playing at the U-15 level. He attended New Digamber Public School and then graduated from Indore University.

Domestic and IPL Career
Patidar made his first-class debut for Madhya Pradesh during the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy and made 60 on debut and a century on the second. Patidar made List A and T20 appearances in December 2015 and January 2018. Patidar headed the run charts for the side of Madhya Pradesh in 2018-19 Ranji Trophy by featuring in 713 out of eight matches.
Patidar was first selected by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2021 in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He remained unsold in the 2022 auction but returned as a replacement and was under consideration after his unbeaten 112 against Lucknow Super Giants in eliminator's match, the first uncapped player to score a century in IPL playoffs.
Patidar was appointed RCB captain with Faf du Plessis' retirement from 2025.
Career Internationally
Patidar made his international debut for India in an ODI against South Africa on the 21st of December 2023 and scored 22 runs. He also made his debut for England on the 2nd of February 2024 and scored 32 and 9 runs in the first and second innings.
Family Life
Rajat Patidar is also married to Gunjan Patidar; the couple married on July 7, 2022, in Indore. His father is a businessperson by profession. His family has been supporting him in his cricket career, although they were initially unsure.
