Saurabh Dwivedi’s Journey In Digital Media In 2025
Saurabh Dwivedi is among the leading journalists in India and is the Force behind The Lallantop, a digital publication that is revolutionizing Hindi journalism. Saurabh is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Lallantop and built a brand that reaches millions of Indians every day, through genuine, witty journalism with roots in real issues.

Saurabh was born on 22 April 1983 at Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh, and he grew up having an immediate love for language and the truth. Throughout his education, he gained a sharp sense of editorial sensibility - he graduated from Allahabad University, followed by a postgraduate degree in Hindi Literature from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), and a diploma in Journalism from IIMC Delhi.
Before building the Lallantop platform, Saurabh worked with some of the leading media houses in India, such as Aaj Tak, Star News (ABP), and Navbharat Times. The experience he gained from stints in print journalism and TV journalism allowed him to understand how a news story could be constructed in a meaningful way while still being engaging.
In 2016, India Today Group engaged Saurabh to build a Hindi platform for the digital age. The result was The Lallantop, a news channel that took reporting away from what is considered conventional. The secret was simple Hindi, desi humour, and fearless analysis. Programs such as Netanagari, The Lallantop Show, Sehat, and Kitabwala became television hits among youth audiences.
Currently, The Lallantop boasts over 22 million subscribers on YouTube, over 10 million followers on Facebook, and around 200 million viewers monthly. The success of this media brand lies in how it can provide a mixed medium experience of journalism with storytelling, making complicated and complex issues accessible to all audiences, from youth in tier 2 and 3 towns to audiences in metros.
The vision Saurabh has grown is built on an ethic of transparency and truth. Despite being trolled, pressured by politicians, and monetizing the content, he maintains a commitment to unbiased sensationalised reporting and being fact-based is the intent.
In plans, Saurabh plans to develop the hashtag to include regional languages, more investigative journalism in efforts, and to teach young reporters how to tell stories about real stuff.
From small-town boy to face of Hindi digital journalism, Saurabh Dwivedi is an important reminder that language used truthfully can mend and unite a nation. Through the Lallantop, Saurabh has not created a news brand but rather a movement in India for journalism with meaning.
