Biography
Sridevi was born on 13 August 1963 in Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan. She began acting when she was four years old. She first went to the silver screen as a child artist in the Tamil film Thunaivan (1969). And she gradually moved on to more considerable banner titles: not only in Tamil, but also Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and very late in Bollywood. She was at the epitome of versatility in genres for which she acted: drama, comedy, action, and romance.
Sridevi is a natural actress, whether it's a simple village girl or a comical character or a stronger-willed woman. She had the loveliest expressive eyes and immaculate comic timing with elegant dancing skills that made her a household name across India in no time. Taking time out in the industry after 1997 to spend time with family, Sridevi took on a grand return with English Vinglish in 2012, establishing herself even stronger as the legendary actress of all time.
Sadly, she died on February 24, 2018, in Dubai, creating an enormous vacuum in the Indian cinema world.
Parents
Sridevi was brought up in a Tamil family. Her father, Ayyapan Yanger, is a lawyer, and mother, Rajeswari Yanger is a homemaker. She has one sister Srilatha and two half-brothers from her father's previous marriage.
She married Boney Kapoor-the great Bollywood film producer in 1996. With him, she has two daughters whose names are Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor. Her daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, is a darling like her mother and proceeded to tread the path of her mother as an actress from 2018 in Bollywood.
Despite such unparalleled glory, Sridevi was surprisingly a very doting mother and wife. Family was always on her topmost priority and thus after marriage, she quit acting for the good 15 years to be with her daughters. Her death in 2018 was a tremendous loss not only to her family but to fans across the globe.
