Brahmastra team is thinking of a spin-off of Vanarastra the character played by Shah Rukh Khan. Ayan Mukerji syas, ‘We have to do the origins story of Vanarastra’.
One of Bollywood’s most anticipated movie Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt has released this weekend and it already became very poplular among audience and has crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark at the opening weekend. Many fans were excited to see their favourite pair on screen, whereas many were looking forward to the return of Shah Rukh Khan on the big screen. As he can be seen playing cameo in some movies like in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and Laal Singh Chaddha, the actor returned to the big screen as scientist Mohan Bharghav, seemingly an ode to his Swades character and played the role of Vanarastra in the movie.
As the audience got excited when they see the actor, they also desired to see him in his separate project as the movie go further. The director, Ayan Mukerji shares that the team have definitely thought about it. While in an interview with Indian Express just after the release of Brahmastra, Ayan Mukerji said, “Before the fans were asking for it, we as a team were also saying that ourselves. When we were shooting for the sequence in 2019, we were also discussing these on sets. As we came across the character of the scientist, we said, ‘We have to do more things .We have to think about the origin story of the scientist!'”
An industry expert shares with Bollywood Hungama, "It’s really good to see that Shah Rukh Khan in Brahmastra is named Mohan Bhargav. He is usually plays Rahul and Raj but Mohan Bhargav was a very special character. So, when his full name came out in the film, it immediately hit the nostalgic past of the viewers.”
