EXCLUSIVE: Rajkummar Rao CONFIRMS about Stree 2; Says he will start shooting 'hopefully soon'

Fans of the horror comedy film Stree are in for a surprise, as Rajkummar Rao has announced recently its sequel and revealed that he will begin shooting for Stree 2 shortly. According to reports, a few days ago that Amar Kaushik has locked the script for Stree 2, and that he would be reuniting with Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao for the sequel early next year. Following that, Shraddha Kapoor, who starred in Bhediya's song Thumkeshwari, also revealed that Stree will comeback with a sequel. Rajkummar Rao has now verified the same news!

Rajkummar Rao says ‘Stree 2 will come soon’

Rajkummar Rao talked about the potential of a horror universe saying that he thinks they (makers) will have to take that decision. In addition to confirming Stree 2, Rajkummar stated, hopefully, Stree 2 will happen soon, and yes definitely there is a potential of getting this horror universe made.  When asked if he will begin shooting for Stree 2 soon, Rajkummar said, "Hopefully soon," but did not elaborate.

Stree 2 has been confirmed by Shraddha Kapoor

Meanwhile, a few days ago, Shraddha Kapoor took to Instagram to reveal a BTS video of the dance track Thumkeshwari. She stated in the video that she will start shooting for Stree 2 shortly. "Stree has returned. It feels fantastic to be back on set. "It's very exciting for me since we'll be starting Stree 2 very soon," she stated in the video.

Meanwhile, pre-production on Stree 2 will begin after the November release of Bhediya, with the film going into production in the first quarter of 2023. "Shraddha had made a brief appearance in a Bhediya song, and now Varun Dhawan is expected to take a role in Stree 2. According to a source, the tale of Bhediya eventually leads to Stree, and that would get the ball rolling for Maddock's distinct horror-comedy universe.
