The drama Amma on Asianet which features a moving plot and top-notch actors, drew in its audience. Made in collaboration with Star Jalsha, the series was a remake of its Bengali version, Maa, and launched on June 2, 2011. During its years on Asianet, Amma recorded more than 1000 episodes and gained a loyal following.
Plot Overview
Chinnu was taken from her family when she was five at a festival and renamed Ponnu by her kidnappers, who raised her. Not knowing who she really is, she has a hard childhood and eventually becomes very good at pickpocketing, even though she’s kind. As chance would have it, Chinnu meets her biological family and tries with all her heart to rejoin them, causing a number of ups and downs with emotion.
