Sunflower Plot & Ending Explained
Mr Ahuja (Mukul Chadha), a Sunflower Society resident, seeks to poison his troubled neighbour Raj Kapoor (Ashwin Kaushal ) by poisoning his coconut's water. The police come to the housing society to look into the murder and question the occupants.
The cops, DG (Ranvir Shorey) and Tambe (Girish Kulkarni), interview Sonu Singh (Sunil Grover), a sales representative at a beauty firm. The police then question Ahuja, who flatly denies any issues with Kapoor.
The police discover Bromethalin poison in the deceased person and go to Sonu's residence, where he orders dinner from the same restaurant as Mr Kapoor. They also question him about the poison he recalls using to kill a rat.
Frightened of being discovered, Ahuja and his wife (Radha Bhatt) try to hide the coconut in a plant, only to discover that the straw is still at the victim's location. Ahuja breaks into Kapoor's house through the vent to obtain the proof. He is unable to conceal the straw as the officers remove it.
However, the Sunflower society committee, led by Mr Iyer (Ashish Vidyarthi), continues to make changes to the application form in order to accept only residents who meet its cultural and moral standards. Sonu chooses to run for society Chairman, with the support of Iyer's daughter (Ria Nalavade).

The food delivery guy told the police that Sonu stole Kapoor's parcel from him one night before the murder and returned after the man cleaned the floor. When DG comes to question Ahuja, he becomes tense. Tambe discovers CCTV video of the maid and watchman and invites them for questioning.
Sonu fixes Gurleen's (Nerurkar Simran) dilemma by talking to her father-in-law, but gets into trouble when his men receive orders to capture Sonu. When the visitors discover his company's unique lipstick and a dead rat, Justina's (Dayana Erappa) home party switches to his house.
After removing the fingerprints, Ahuja puts the coconut in the building corridor while the police hunt for it in the Sunflower society. Sonu finds it and tosses it in his house's garbage can. Sonu is caught the next day while selling a carton of syringes to a pharmacist.
Sonu talks about his previous job at a pharmaceutical business and the rat poison needles. As Justina and Gurleen arrives at the club, his friend Aanchal (Saloni Khanna) is impressed by him, asks them out, drugs him, and then breaks up with him.
Sonu wakes up in Justina's house the next day, attempts to go to his own, but leaps out the window as his employer arrives to inquire about the leaked lipstick idea. He gets to another tenant’s house, who told him to take him to the hospital.
DG feels Ahuja is hiding something and returns to see footsteps on the balcony between his and Kapoor's houses. Tambe calls the inspector in order to show him photographs of Sonu and Kapoor at a wedding. They suspect Sonu and start looking for evidence against him. Who will be charged with murder?
Ending explained in detail:
Sonu and Kapoor’s connection
In the last episode of Sunflower, a flashback sees Sonu arriving to Juhi and Ashish's marriage ceremony, where he performs and eats alone. When he walks on stage to greet the marriage, he accidentally gets photographed with Mr Kapoor's family.
DG arrives at Juhi's home to inquire about Sonu. She shows herself to be his ex-girlfriend as well as Raj Kapoor's former secretary. She tells him that her boss forced her to divorce Sonu and marry Ashish.
She tells him about the day Sonu caught Kapoor urging her to stop dating him and get acquainted with someone on par with her, as Ashish was. Sonu had departed without saying anything after she had agreed with him.
DG is persuaded that he has discovered Sonu's pupose behind Kapoor’s murder and orders Tambe to find him.
Police arrive to arrest Sonu
Tambe starts looking for Sonu and can't reach him at his flat. He approaches Jusleen, who rather begs him to assist her in finding Gurleen, who has been lost since the day she went for singing auditions.
The sub-inspector arrives at the hospital, where Sonu had taken another resident in an emergency, but he also goes missing. With a search warrant in hand, DG and the officers arrive to the Sunflower Society and move immediately to Sonu's flat.
Mr Iyer, presenting a new application form at the society's 18th anniversary celebration, declares that Sonu has been found guilty of Kapoor's murder by the police. As Ahuja hears this, he feels comforted and begins to chuckle.
The cops break into Sonu's residence with the assistance of a key maker who is present and look for proof. They discover empty syringes in his drawer and the coconut used in the murder in his garbage can.
DG instructs Tambe to locate Sonu in the key maker's store, but Sonu goes missing once more.
Where is Sonu?
Furious of being abused by her husband, Ahuja's wife tells him that she would reveal the true killer at any point. Ahuja is taken aback after being blackmailed by his own wife.
The cliffhanger at the end of Sunflower has left many things unsolved, implying that it will be renewed for a second season, while no official confirmation has been made.
