Critical Response:

Critics gave "Thangalaan" mixed reviews, complimenting the principal actors' performances, narrative, action, and GV Prakash Kumar's background score while criticising historical errors, visual effects, and screenplay.

The film was produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja under Studio Green and Neelam Productions. G. V. Prakash Kumar created the soundtrack, A. Kishor Kumar handled the cinematography, and Selva R. K edited it.
