Cheran's most recent movie, with Empathy Ramaiah, Kavya Suresh, Sukanya, Anupama Kumar, and Cheran himself in the lead role. It tells the story of a couple who face problems when their families suddenly change their minds about their marriage due to financial differences.

Porkkaalam (1997):

Directed by Cheran, starring Murali, Meena, Vadivelu, and Manivanan. The movie revolves around a poor potter who struggles to get his deaf and mute sister married due to her disability and other issues created by her father.

Pokkisham:

This movie, starring Cheran himself, Padmapriya, Aryan Rajesh, and Bindu Madhavi, was a flop due to its slow pace, which didn't appeal to Tamil movie-goers.

Bharathi Kannamma (1997)

 Directed by Cheran, with Parthiban, Meena, Vijayakumar, Senthil, and Ranjith in the lead roles. The story is about a love between Parthiban, who works for a rich man, and Meena, the daughter of a wealthy landlord, which ultimately leads to Meena's tragic suicide due to their caste difference.
