The Janhvi Kapoor, Gulshan Devaiah, and Roshan Mathew starrer Ulajh hit theaters earlier this year on August 2, 2024. Now, nearly two months after its cinematic release, the film is available for streaming on OTT platforms. If you missed catching it on the big screen, you can now watch it from the comfort of your home, as the makers have announced that Ulajh is now streaming on Netflix.
On September 27, Netflix India shared a poster of Ulajh featuring Janhvi Kapoor on their Instagram handle. The post, which tagged the film's cast and crew, was captioned: "In a world where every word is a lie and every step a risk, how far will she go in the pursuit of truth? Watch Ulajh, now on Netflix."
Fans quickly took to the comments to express their excitement. One user commented, "Wow, what a movie," while another said, "Weekend watch sorted." A third fan praised the film’s “strong script.”
The thriller drama Ulajh revolves around Suhana Bhatia (played by Janhvi Kapoor), an Indian Foreign Services (IFS) officer who is appointed as the Deputy High Commissioner at the High Commission of India in London. After three months, she becomes romantically involved with a man named Nakul (played by Gulshan Devaiah), a Michelin-star chef. However, things take a dark turn when Suhana finds herself entangled in a dangerous personal conspiracy.
At the trailer launch, Janhvi Kapoor spoke about how the film was particularly special to her, as it was her first time portraying the complex role of a diplomat. She described the experience as both "humbling" and "fascinating," and credited director Sudhanshu Saria for pushing her beyond her comfort zone.
Directed by Sudhanshu Saria and produced by Junglee Pictures, the film also stars Roshan Mathew, Adil Hussain, Rajendra Gupta, Rajesh Tailang, Meiyang Chang, and Jitendra Joshi. The screenplay is written by Parveez Shaikh and Sudhanshu Saria, with dialogues by Atika Chauhan. The film is produced by Vineet Jain and co-produced by Amrita Pandey.
