Jane the Virgin – Review

Wondering about which TV show to watch? Jane The Virgin might be the answer. Read the show's review by Purvi.

You must watch this show. I just loved every character development in there. I laughed, I cried, I was surprised, it opened so many doors of emotion. It is one of the best series I have ever watched to date. It has so much potential and love put into it. Rose or as they call her SIN-ROSTRO when she was so evil and scary it relates to all scary things in life. This show can give you so much joy and love in your heart. Jane as a character is so powerful and inspiring; it just spoke right to my mind.

It has all of the telenovela classics but still contains its unexpected twists that change the whole context and always ends on a cliff-hanger. Everyone who has watched from episode 1 to episode 100 would agree that they have cried at least once, the actors are so talented. I just hope they make a sequel of it. As the last episode ends you will have the urge to watch it all again. The love story here is better than any fairy tale; it has everything from romance, comedy, crime to horror.

All of the characters in the show have a big and effective part even if they appeared in a few episodes. I and my best friend watched this show at the same time and we used to just discuss every character and situation in it. It gave us so much pleasure and it becomes more interesting as we move forward. Plus it feels it’s refreshing to see the Latin community play a major role in the show. It makes you wonder what they have been through in real-time.

There’s so much reference you are going to recognize and you will be like ‘good point’ or ‘I see what you did there’. The love triangles got me angst and I was like ‘omg, you got to pick one’, but it’s all about exploring your feelings and even your ego.

I loved the Petra character, here is plenty of Petras out here and you are going to need a Jane Villanueva to set you at the right path. Also, you need a Jane Ramos to fully love and bring out the good in you. I liked the Petra and Ramos relationship; it’s good to see a healthy LGBTQ relationship display as support to the LGBTQ community. At the end of the day, you are going to love Luisa for all of this, you will get this line once you watch it.
