Weddings are celebratory, fun and a perfect opportunity to doll up and our best foot forward. But, once the excitement fizzles out, reality punches us in the face. The biggest question arises, what to wear? That is the first thing that comes to everyone’s mind. A wedding ceremony is not just about one outfit; we need five to six outfits for all the functions, especially in India.

If we have a group of friends, we can coordinate, talk and decide on outfits, but that’s not always the case. So what makes for an exciting wedding guest dress? Let me tell you guys about some of the outfits which I have tried.

·

Floral Motifs

Floral motifs have been and will always be my favorite. Small motifs, heavy embroidery and block printing the list goes on and on when it comes to the level of variety one can find in the market when it comes to the floral. My outfit was three pieces which consisted of a bottle-green small floral print blouse with a heavily embroidered light coloured lehenga along with a net dupatta with heavy border. I wore this outfit at my cousin’s wedding with Polki jewellery.

·

Saree With Statement Blouse

Saree is another typical choice for weddings. A statement blouse is something that a lot of girls have loved these days for a more subdued look. Flaunt your back in some fringe statement moment. It looks amazing and beautiful against some plain and elegant light colour bordered saree.

·

Floor-length Anarkali

Though it is an old-fashioned outfit idea, believe me, it gives an extremely beautiful look. It is an outfit which suits all body-type. I tried one for a pre-wedding ceremony.

·

Pastel-colored Dress

In between the traditional dressing ideas let me tell you about a western outfit. I tried this outfit on the bachelor’s night at my friend’s wedding. It was a plain, pastel colour one-piece dress. It was knee length with a side slit and was off-shoulder and slip-fit.

·

Peplum Poise

A peplum blouse or jacket with a skirt is the current rage when it comes to wedding outfits. It looks unique and gives you a poised and proper look. This style is perfect for a daytime wedding when you don’t want to overdo but still dress-up.
