To me, both looked similar, and so I grew to like both of them equally. But as I grew older, I started noticing the differences and soon came to recognize them. But that's not all. I still come across several people who confuse Throwball with Volleyball. So why don't I share my thoughts with these suffering people? Throwball vs. Volleyball
Throwball is a non-contact sport, meaning that players rarely come into contact with each other during the competition. Throwball is a sport played between two teams separated by a net. Each team consists of seven players. Players must throw the ball with one hand while jumping, without touching or crossing the attack line. However, the opposing team must catch and return the ball in three consecutive passes; otherwise, the other team's points will increase. If the ball reaches the boundary line, the team that threw the ball still gets more points. Nevertheless, throwing the ball requires teamwork. Throwing the ball is one of the most popular team sports and requires proper strategic positioning with an emphasis on quick reflexes.

Volleyball is a fast-paced game or sport played on a rectangular court separated by a net. Unlike throwball, volleyball consists of only six players, and players are responsible for lifting the ball over the net and placing it in the opposing team's court, and for spinning the ball so that the players do not let it touch the ground on the same side. During the game, players use different techniques such as pushing, hitting, smashing, and setting to keep the ball in play. But volleyball requires good communication between players and precise control of the ball. To effectively practice both throwing and volleyball, join a good sports community in your area.

Rules and Regulations

Throwing the Ball
Throwball has 12 members, seven of which are active players and the remaining five are substitutes who replace other players during the match.

In a throwball game, two players cannot touch or catch the ball at the same time, otherwise the team will lose a point. All players must wear uniforms numbered 1-12.

Players must maintain a 2-3-2 formation during the match.

Players are not allowed to move the ball from left to right or right to left. This will result in a foul.

If the ball falls in the dead zone, it will be considered a foul.

If the ball is caught during a rally, it must be returned within the 3-second time limit. A player must put the ball into play within five seconds of the whistle.

A player must catch the ball with both hands and return it with only one hand.

The service ball must not touch the net.

A match is played in three sets, with 25 points awarded per set plus a rally score.

Volleyball
Only six players are allowed at a time, three of whom stand at the front of the line and the other three at the back. Just like in cricket, the team that wins the coin toss gets the chance to bowl first.

A block does not count as a hit, meaning a player cannot hit the ball twice.

After serving a game, front-line players can swap positions at the net.

A game within a game consists of sets, and the number of moves varies depending on the level of play.

A ball in play is considered to be in play if it hits the boundary line. Each serve counts as a point for the winning team, which is called rally point scoring.

It is not a rule violation if the ball contacts any part of a player's body.

The ball cannot be caught, held or thrown.

Throwball has seven players whereas volleyball has six players.

Dimensions
The size of a volleyball court is comparatively larger than that of a throwball court. A volleyball court is about 18 meters long and 9 meters wide with a net height of 2.43 meters for men and 2.24 meters for women. The throwing field is about 12 meters long and 10 meters wide with a net height of 2.2.

Points
In volleyball, a team scores by slamming the ball into the opponent's court or by the opponent committing a foul. In throwball, a team scores a point if the ball lands outside the opponent's boundary line or if the opponent fails to throw or return the ball for three consecutive phases. Handling
Volleyball players handle the ball using techniques such as pushing, setting and smashing, whereas throwball players use it by jumping and throwing the ball without crossing the line.

Additional Charges
In volleyball, the team that serves can exchange positions after winning, but in throwball this is not possible and the same player can serve multiple times until the opposing team wins the point.
