Here Is How Much Pegasus Spyware Costs To Operate
Pegasus, a phone spyware provided to multiple governments by an Israeli company, NSO Group, was used to target politicians, rights activists, and reporters in numerous nations, including India, as per international media.
What is the cost of operating this spyware?
The NSO Group reportedly charged clients $500,000 simply to install the program and $650,000 to gain access to Ten devices, according to The New York Times. According to the claim, an organisation would spend $650,000 to hack Ten Smartphone devices and the same amount for 10 iPhone handsets. An agency would have to spend $500,000 to gain access to Blackberry smartphones, and $300,000 for Symbian users.
The research claims that adding more targets will further raise the price. Additionally, the firm added a maintenance fee of 17% of the total cost per year. The catch here is that the pricing list is for an older version of Pegasus, and that more recent models with more functions and even zero-click functionality can cost more. Spyware may penetrate a device without the user needing to take any action due to zero-click hacks.
