Know How to Check Call Forwarding in Airtel

The DoT of India, in the interest of security, has issued an order to suspend call forwarding services over USSD until April 15, 2024.
Since Airtel subscribers are no longer allowed to access the traditional USSD codes to operate the call forwarding service, the Airtel company has presented some alternative ways to this facility by designing the Airtel Thanks App.
Steps for Call Forwarding using the Airtel Thanks App:
Download and Install: First, ensure the Airtel Thanks App is downloaded on your device. If it is not, download it from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Log In: Use your Airtel credentials to log into the app
Click on Call Settings: In that app go to Call settings
Setup Call Forwarding: Select 'Call Forwarding' and choose the condition you would like your calls forwarded on. You can always forward, forward when busy, forward when unanswered, or forward when unreachable.
Input number: Input the phone number that you would want your calls forwarded to.
Save Settings: Accept and save your call forwarding preference.
Disable Call Forwarding using the Airtel Thanks App:
Call Settings: From the Airtel Thanks App, go to 'Call Settings.'
Enable/Disable Call Forwarding: Open the 'Call Forwarding' and deactivate all currently active settings for forwarding calls.
Save Change: Confirm that it's saved, which would turn off call forwarding.
Checking if Call Forwarding is Enabled:
Dial the "Call Forwarding" option found on the Airtel Thanks App. From here, it is possible to check the current status and forwarded number.
Option: Control Call Forwarding on a Device. Some smartphones have their device settings for call forwarding.
Open Phone Settings
For example, by opening the "Phone" menu on your "Call" in the phone itself
Scan for Call Forwarding
This one is usually at "Supplementary Services" or "Additional settings"
Set preferences- Enable/edit call forwarding accordingly.
Note: The setting and whereabouts of the former can differ even with different phones as well as operating systems from the rest.
Conclusion:
Although the deactivation of USSD-based call forwarding does require the customer to change behavior, Airtel makes this very easy for the customer by implementing control of call forwarding settings within the Airtel Thanks App. As shown above, subscribers on the Airtel network ensure they are reachable in most situations.
