Kerala has gained international recognition, not only for its aesthetic excitement or cultural aspects, but also as a birthplace of some of India's most successful entrepreneurs. In Forbes' 2025 list, M. A. Yusuff Ali, who is chairman of LuLu Group International, was the richest Malayali, at $5.5 billion net worth, and 32nd richest in India and 639th richest in the World.

Behind him is a coterie of prominent Keralite businesspersons who are leading their industries in retail, IT, construction, healthcare, and finance. Senapathy "Kris" Gopalakrishnan, co‑founder of Infosys, has wealth estimated at $3.8 billion. Gopalakrishnan's move from tech billionaire to venture philanthropist has cemented his wealth.

B. Ravi Pillai, the founder of the RP Group, a company managing a complicated infrastructure and hospitality interest across the Gulf, has a net worth estimated at around $3.7 billion @mathrubhumi.

Real estate titan P. N. C. Menon, founder of Sobha Ltd, has a net worth of about $3.4 billion.

For jewellery retail, Joy Alukkas, chairman of the Joyalukkas Group, has been ranked with a net worth of about $3.3 billion. The expansion of his international chain has confirmed Joy Alukkas as one of the richest Malayalis.

T.S. Kalyanaraman, the managing director of Kalyan Jewellers, is presently valued at approximately $3.1 billion after transforming the family-run local business into a major national and Middle Eastern chain. 

In at number 10 is visionary healthcare entrepreneur, Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, founder of Burjeel Holdings, valued at $2 billion when he directed one of the Middle East’s major private hospital networks.

S.D. Shibulal, formerly the CEO at Infosys and now a venture steward and investor, is also listed with a net worth of about $2 billion. 

The Muthoot family (George Alexander Muthoot), also worth approximately $1.9 billion, rounds out the top ten, and has built their wealth fundamentally through gold financing services across India.
