Born on April 28, 1987, Samantha Ruth Prabhu (formerly known as Akkineni) is an Indian actress who mainly appears in Telugu and Tamil films. Numerous honors have been bestowed upon her, including a Tamil Nadu State Film Award, six SIIMA Awards, four Filmfare Awards South, and two Nandi Awards. Samantha made her acting debut in the Telugu romance film Ye Maaya Chesave (2010), where she won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South, following a brief period as a model while obtaining a degree in commerce. For her roles in the 2012 films Neethaane En Ponvasantham and Eega, respectively, she became the second actress to win the Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Tamil and Best Actress - Telugu in the same year. She portrayed the lead role in several high-grossing androcentric movies over the following several years, including Mersal (2017), Dookudu (2011), Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (2012), Attarintiki Daredi (2013), Kaththi (2014), Theri (2016), 24 (2016), and Rangasthalam (2018). Samantha got her fourth Filmfare Award for her role in A Aa (2016). She also received critical acclaim for her roles in Majili (2019), Super Deluxe (2019), Mahanati (2018), and the Amazon Prime Video thriller series The Family Man (2021).
