Very well known singer and political party, Congress leader Shubhdeep Singh commonly known as Sidhu Moose Wala was assassinated on May 29th by indiscriminate firing. His village has been mourning ever since. Even though he’e a famous singer, he has been in controversy a lot of times. Sidhu Moose Wala was accused of supporting arms culture in Punjab. He was very fond towards world class weapons. They had various licensed firearms. Chetan Midda, a close friend of Moosewala and also the owner of a gun shop, said Sidhu had a 45 bore pistol Ithaca, a US made pistol as well as a 12 bore pump gun single shot gun. But all of these weapons were purchased on license. Chetan and Sidhu had a very close family relationship. Chetan stated that, “Sidhu was very fond of weapons and was fond of having world class weapons. When he witnessed the 315 bore rifle, I gave it to him from my reference. I didn’t have the gun at the time so Illegally bought his father’s 12 bore double barrel gun. 


Sidhu Moosewala had a 32 bore revolver and then he bought a point 45 bore America Made Itaka pistol for his own safety. The pistol was of Rs 12 lakh to Rs 14 lakh, apart from a Pompekson gun.


According to reports, a statement given to the police, on May 29th, Sidhu went out like he usually does all smiles. Hearing the nouse of bullets, Sidhu stopped the vehicle all of a sudden and before he knew it the rear tire of his vehicle was shot.


While Sidhu pulled out his 45-bore Itaka pistol from the windscreen for defending himself and started firing. They thought that the attackers would run away when they did so. But the attackers came from behind the vehicle and began firing indiscriminately from both sides and killed Sidhu Moosewala.
